Heathrow Airline Terminal 5’s Clients Suffered from Mishap

The Heathrow’s Terminal 5 have just opened. But it was greeted with a huge problem and trouble lies in dire of those lacking on travel insurance. The terminal stated that there are over 200 cancelled flights and thousand of traveler’s luggages have been mislaid. Unfortunately travelers had to cover the costs and suffer them from the inconvenience surrounding the whole 4.3billion terminal.

However, only those who have comprehensive insurance were able to get the claim for the delays and mislaid luggage together with the flight cancellation and the expense of acquiring accommodation. The airline insures the consumer to refund for the missed flights.

FCO takes control of Older Traveler

An advised was released by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office to individuals who are on the 55s and spending their holiday. They are advice to have travel insurance.

Annually the number of older holidaygoers is on the rise. It is estimated that 20% were engaging in unsafe activities and they would not tolerate staying only at home.

The FCO also insisted that holidaygoers on 55s should visit their dotor and got check up prior to their journeying.

Uninsured Travel Insurance Rate in Britain

A new private medical insurance product has launched by Groupama HealthCare - Santé.
It was launched in 2006 and focused to serve the corporate SME Sector. Its exlcusive cover provides a full refund on eligible inpatient treatment together with various levels of outpatient cover. Its improvement has extended with additional option for dental and optical insurance. Also the processed of the travel insurance with Groupama has been streamlined.

The head of Groupama Healtcare said that, “The enhancements to Santé by Groupama Healthcare are the direct result of broker feedback, sought both on an individual basis and through our Healthcare Advisory Board.”

Regulating Connected Travel Insurance

A consultation paper was released by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). The paper contains the plans for regulating Connected Travel Insurance or CTI, meaning travel insurance sold during holiday. Previously the FSA already regulates the travel insurances that are directly buy from the insurance company. Base on the paper, the guidelines is to make sure that the companies who are selling the travel insurance are proper and appropriately resourced including its employees.

Consumers should receive adequate, clear, concise, and consistent information about the travel insurers’ services. Those who are looking for advice should also get quality responses from the insurers so that consumers able to make a choice.
