ABI dismayed in Holiday Protection Scheme |
Association of British Insurers showed its dismay to the government of planning to change the Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing (ATOL) protection scheme a 1 pound levy on holidays which is to protect the costumers in the event when their tour operator cease to trading.
Civil Aviation Authority managed it and takes control of the tour operators and travel organisers’ it licenses.
Tour operators listed must lodge a financial guarantee with the CAA. Once the tour operator go out of the business, the authority can arrange refunds to those consumers who are on holiday to finish their vacation and flown back home.
